How to Facilitate Racially Just Spaces


This is an advanced course most appropriate for experienced facilitators who work with adults or faculty who teach in higher education. We do not discuss the K12 context or working with K12 youth in this course.

Monday afternoons: 1/11, 1/25, 2/8, 2/22, 3/8, 3/22, 4/5, and 4/19 from 12-2pm PST via zoom. COURSE FULL. Please check back for announcement of Summer 2021 sessions.

Course Information:

The goals of this course include:

-To inspire and empower you to begin and/or continue your journey to act as anti-racist facilitators and educators who model and lead anti-racist practices both in-person and virtually;

-To provide background, research and information on race theory, how people think about race and racism and how racism plays out in our engagements;

-To counter the myths of meritocracy and color-blindness prevalent in U.S. institutions;

-To provide tools, strategies, language, resources and confidence for facilitators and educators to talk and teach about race, racism and anti-racism.
